About Mind State U
Mind State U was founded in 2022 out of necessity, not inspiration.
After winning season 9 of Big Brother Canada, our founder, Tychon Carter-Newman, found himself depressed, isolated, and contemplating whether or not he should continue his life. Success on the outside did not equal peace on the inside.
Mind State U was created to solve what few were talking about: the mental weight of building something alone.
Entrepreneurship is often framed as freedom, but behind the scenes it comes with pressure, isolation, burnout, identity shifts, and an unspoken expectation to “hold it together” at all times. Mind State U exists to support founders through those realities, not as an afterthought, but as a core part of sustainable success.
Since 2022, Mind State U has supported over 500 entrepreneurs across their growth journeys and built a community of more than 10,000 people who believe that mental wellness and business success are not separate paths, but the same one.
Today, Mind State U provides integrated mental wellness support for entrepreneurs, helping them navigate stress, regulate their nervous systems, strengthen self-trust, and build businesses that are sustainable not just financially, but emotionally and personally.
Mind State U empowers entrepreneurs through culturally grounded entrepreneurship education, integrated mental wellness, and community-driven support systems.
Our mission is to help founders:
- Navigate pressure and uncertainty with clarity
- Build emotional resilience alongside business strategy
- Develop sustainable businesses without sacrificing their well-being
- Thrive economically, socially, and mentally
- Align on a prosperous path to creating generational wealth for their families and communities
To set the standard for integrated entrepreneur support by advancing a model of business growth that prioritizes mental resilience, personal sustainability, and collective well-being alongside financial performance.
Mind State U aims to shape a future where entrepreneurial success is measured not only by outcomes, but by the capacity to sustain them.
